The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN), created to promote the safe and orderly development of civil aviation around the world. ICAO sets international standards and regulations necessary for the safety, security, efficiency and regularity of air transport and services.

In 2022, the ICAO Assembly adopted a collective long-term global aspirational goal (LTAG) of “net-zero carbon emissions by 2050” for international aviation, in support of the Paris Agreement. Sandbox was chosen to create dynamic animations to bring to life the LTAG report that explores the feasibility of this goal.

These videos contribute to ICAO's Strategic Objective on Environmental Protection, illustrating innovative measures, climate goals, and the global Carbon Offsetting Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), aligning with international efforts to address the environmental impact of civil aviation.

Our team conceptualized and delivered a 6-minute animated video meticulously crafted to convey complex information in an accessible manner, and 8 cutdown chapters. By forgoing voiceovers, we leveraged impactful visuals, music, and precise editing to effectively convey the message. Our team collaborated closely with ICAO, facilitating the delivery of not only a comprehensive video but also meeting ICAO's specific needs and contributing to their global environmental objectives in aviation.
