The International Organization for Migration (IOM) needed a series of videos for their eLearning platform which would get to the heart of ethical recruitment. Sandbox created a six-part animated series featuring the powerful story of a migrant worker—a mother seeking better opportunities abroad to provide a better life for her child. Through a first-person perspective, the animations capture her emotional and physical journey, highlighting the challenges she faces and the transformative impact of working with an ethical employer.

To ensure the series seamlessly integrated into the eLearning platform, we emphasized the vibrant colours aligned with IOM's official color palette. This cohesive visual design creates an engaging and aesthetically pleasing experience for learners. Dynamic illustrations and stunning visuals allow viewers to connect to the story, enhancing the emotional impact and raising awareness about migrant worker rights.

Each episode of the series highlights key aspects of ethical recruitment, decent work, and the specific challenges migrant workers face – especially those most vulnerable to exploitation, like women and mothers. By sharing this mother’s journey, we aim to foster empathy and understanding, as well as the importance of ethical hiring practices in international labor markets.

Hosted on a custom-built eLearning platform, this series is part of a larger initiative to educate businesses on ethical recruitment practices and human rights. The animations serve as a tool for learning and reflection, empowering viewers to create better opportunities for migrant workers while respecting their dignity and rights.
