Sandbox partnered with the Holocaust Education Resource Center to tell the powerful story of Holocaust survivor, George, through his daughter’s eyes. After surviving the Holocaust, George spent the remainder of his life telling his story across the United States. After George’s passing, his daughter Nancy reflects on her role in continuing his legacy and passing his story to the next generation in the Jewish community.
At Sandbox, we believe in fostering focused learning and continued dialogue around this dark era of human history, and we feel storytelling is a deeply effective form of education and remembrance.
We created an animation that relies on a watercolour-esque style with a simple color palette to convey this emotional family narrative. The soft visuals spark connection, learning, and reflection, while also raising awareness for the Holocaust Education Resource Center.
